OUR PROJECT
As our project subtitle suggests, we are on the search for the perfect Papa He'enalu (surfboard). Based on the evolution of surfboards, our needs as surfers, and the current surf culture, we will attempt to recreate a model sized surfboard of the perfect surfboard for us. The following project journal recounts our experiences, successes, and failures.

Day 0 The Search for Knowledge

Day 1 The Beginning

Day 2 The Surfer and the Board

Day 3 The Calculations

Day 4 The Cutting of Four Pieces

Day 5 The Wood Glue and C-Clamp

Day 6 The Woodworking Saw

Day 7 The Coarse Sandpaper

Day 8 The Varnish

Day 9 The Finished Product
